Mr. Arroyo, Honestly Im so glad you took the time to leave a review. I found out about what happened with your table just as you were leaving. I tried to run after you but when I went out the front door I could not tell which way you had gone. First and foremost, I am so very sorry you were not taken care of. The reason I knew you guys ended up leaving is because my waiters were arguing about whose fault it was and I overheard then ran after you. Our hostess didnt show up Saturday night and one of our kitchen employees had to take this weekend off so I was cooking instead of being able to walk around out front. We were insanely understaffed, but really everyone is these days. You being able to make it out the door before someone caught you or informed me is a huge failure on our part and my staff out front that night was seriously reprimanded for their neglect. That said, we hope you and your party would please come back for another visit on us. Waited at the door for approximately 10 minutes before being acknowledged from across the room only to be sent outside to the patio. no biggie. sat out in the patio another 20 only to watch staff walk past us still not acknowledging us and attending everyone else including customers arriving after us. wasn't even offered a menu. checked the online menu everything looked good even reviews were good, but we didn't see it. we decided to leave after a lucky group of 4 were greeted at a table as they arrived and offered menus at the same time. lousy experience made us feel unwelcomed and out of place. we felt like raisins in a bowl of grits. too bad, we live in the area and were hoping to make this one a hang out spot.
We live nearby and visit often. The food is always excellent. Cajun is one of our favorite cuisines, and it's such a treat to have a restaurant doing it so well in our neighborhood. Their cocktails are classic offerings prepared with skill and care. The service is friendly and prompt. I wish they could be open all week, but I understand staffing is tough and all Race St. businesses tend to be closed Monday-Tuesday.
Being from out of town and love Cajun food, we had to try. Very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. James was our waiter and able to answer all questions and even gave great recommendations! The food was outstanding and just what the soul needed. Thank you for the hospitality
Im sorry the credit card fee ruined your evening. If it helps, please know, its not us charging it. The money never touches our hands. When we swipe a card, the fee is instantly sent to your credit card issuer as they are the ones who charge it. In 2018 Texas law changed so that small businesses do not have to shoulder the cost of accepting cards (I assure you it is enough a month to be the difference in a company closing or making it). We take real pride in what we serve and would hate for you to feel we are deceitful.

They tacked a credit card charge on the bill-+no warning, made the end of the meal distasteful. Seems a fraudulent way to operate, maybe they were decietful about the booze or food quality. I'll not be back.
