Tami, we're wondering why you're posting this. 1) There is no record of anyone with the name "Tami Sebastian" (the name you used to post here prior to changing it after we replied) in our database. In order to make an exchange, you must have your phone number and information so that we can issue you store credit. 2) We don't have a "return line" and the line for checking out simply moves on its own. You don't have to ask for help; you simply move up when the person in front of you does. 3) Our staff always lets people in line know "I can help the next person." We suspect you're either confused about where you were or trolling. If you have a legitimate complaint, please contact the store so we can check the security cameras and verify what happened. You can call the store at 512-462-4646 or email us at austin (at) uptowncheapskate (dot) com. Since you've now changed your name, it seems this is just a fake review.

If you want to be ignored while making a return, this is your place! If you want to pay too much, this is your place I spent 15 minutes in line, nobody would even make eye contact, or wave me forward, I literally had to ask for help in the return line. Dont waste time here, there are way better places!
K W, we apologize for the wait times being longer than we'd all like but other than that, we're confused as to why you're unhappy. The buyers told you 1.5 hours and you are unhappy you weren't called BEFORE that? Obviously they were just getting to it. We do try to work in smaller buys when we can but they clearly hadn't gotten to you yet and when they did, it seems you were done in just about the amount of time they quoted you. We regret we didn't get to your buy sooner than the time we quoted you but sometimes we just can't. To recap: they told you an hour and a half and were done in about an hour and thirty-five minutes. We are very organized because we have to be. They didn't forget you; you were simply up next when you came back in.

I took my stuff in to sell. They told me it would be a 1.5 hours. I sat in my car waiting for a text/call saying it was ready. Never got a call. Went in after 1.5 hr and asked if they were going to call when its ready. They said yes whats your name. I told them and only then did they get my bags out and start sorting through it. Took 5 minutes. Seriously so annoyed. Just poor business and unorganized.
Thanks so much, Jennifer! We put in extra effort to try and get bigger sizes, which is a challenge. Glad you were able to find things and we appreciate the feedback!

There was a wide selection of clothes, and that was great because its common for thrift stores to not have a lot in XL+ sizes. Grabbed some great finds! Will be going back.
Hey Marie, We're disappointed to hear you aren't happy with the store. First, please be aware that we're a locally-owned family business. There is no "corporate" per se. Second, weve been dealing with the struggle with plus sizes as long as weve been in business. We get 90% of our inventory from the public. Im sure you are aware that when it comes to plus size, there are fewer options at the retail level to begin with. We buy in whatever we can get and honestly, most of what comes in isnt great, either in style or condition. We try to be a little more open and will bring in new product to try add more options. There are fewer options for new product too but we order them and then, they dont sell particularly well and we end up losing money. Despite that, many individuals assume we are discriminatory or not interested in that business and we want to assure you that isnt the case. We have decided to try a little harder to find some more options even though its not very profitable for us so that we can be more inclusive but I do want you to be aware that this is a common refrain and were aware of it and looking for options. Please encourage your fashionable plus-size friends to sell to us. We will continue looking for additional options and keep trying. As for "small-medium up-priced Shein resells," it's interesting that you mentioned that because we essentially stopped buying Shein months ago WITH THE EXCEPTION of larger sizes and items that are on the higher end of their average price. If you know of a place that has a great selection of the kind of thing you're looking for, please email us at austin (at) uptowncheapskate (dot) com. We'd love to see some ideas. As for the seating, we just added more seating when we expanded. Our buy counter is very busy and we are unable to add any more at this time because it would take up floor space. We've seen places with no seating whatsoever and others where they REQUIRE sellers to sit in small plastic chairs lined up and don't allow you to leave or even roam around the store. We've tried to provide options for either waiting in the store, in your car or anywhere in The Corners Shopping Center as long as you can be back within a couple of minutes when your offer is ready, or utilizing our drop-off option. We're happy to explore any other options to accommodate individuals with unusual requirements. Please send us any suggestions you have as well and again, if you know of a place that is more accommodating, we'd like to check it out so we can take note.

want to stress every employee here is kind and awesome. however if youre someone who like me, is disabled and has a bigger body, youre better off looking elsewhere for clothes your size. but dont worry, there is plenty of small-medium up-priced shein resells. in addition, there are only 3 chairs available to sit and wait if you are selling. so if you go in on a busy day and are pregnant, disabled, elderly, be prepared to wait in your car. corporate, do better.
