Your experience truly depends on who does your hair on the day you go. My first time here, I went with my daughter to get her hair done. The stylist was 15 minutes late. I didnt mind too much. She made up for it by being gentle with my kid (shes 4) so shes not used to being at salons. I thought it wasnt too bad. My second time I went for myself. When I got there, the lady who seemed to be in charge told me she rescheduled my appointment (without telling me) and that Id have to wait. I already paid the deposit so I had no choice . When they eventually got to me, the lady who did my hair was so rude. She was yanking at my natural hair and rudely asking me why I didnt detangle it before coming. Then they proceeded to overcharge my final fee by $10. When I asked why, she said because my hair is natural (their website doesnt explain this). It was a terrible experience and I have never gone back. I will not be going back. Oh and the whole time she was doing my hair, she was talking negatively about her other clients. I forgot her name but she really doesnt need to be working there. Terrible attitude and very unprofessional. The salon allows it, so they are part of that unprofessional culture. Edit. Now the owner replied to say Im not their client as if they remember everyone who has ever been to their salon. Instead of seeking ways to do better, youre telling an outright lie. I didnt realize that I was supposed to memorize names since it would become a he said she said situation months later. Please do better. Yes Ive been to your salon twice. Once with my daughter and once by myself. Theres a nail shop next door to your salon and youre off international boulevard by the Navi federal credit union in Norfolk . Do better.
We apologize for your experience because of COVID-19 we follow a protocol as far as booking appointments. If you experienced a situation where we could not take you right on the spot it was most likely due to a stylist having appointments already booked, short of staff for that day, or the time you wanted wasnt available. Our motto is no client is left behind and we try our best to reach that goal.

Such a pleasant experience!!! Walked in and got an appointment on the spot for silk press & trim. Every stylist spoke and was so welcoming. The salon is CLEAN!!! Every station visibly has Lysol spray and wipes. They clean the chair before and after each client. No questions if they are abiding by Covid rules because they 100% are. Everyone wore mask without a problem. Nique was a God send today for my niece appointment. She took her time but got us in and out. I've been to a few salons and ill say this was by far the quickest and most efficient stylist I've encountered!!! The salon popped up on a Google suggestion and I'm glad that I chose this one. If you're looking for a clean & dope atmosphere make sure you come here! It's THE MELANIN FOR ME

My first couple times coming it was a good experience however a couple of days ago I set up an appt for distressed locs. I went to the website and clicked on braids and distressed locs was one of the services offered. There was an option to choose who exactly I wanted to do my hair but I chose any available because I didn't care who did it. The website randomly selected someone named nique. The next day I went to the shop and got the hair I needed for the hairstyle I wasn't exactly sure so I called the shop first before purchasing any hair. The male on the phone said he wasn't sure what hair I should use and that I should speak to nique. I ended up having someone at the beauty supply store help me find the correct hair. A couple of hours later the hairstylist nique called me back and told me they didn't do distressed locs, she asked me what exactly they were and said she didn't know what they were. She then told me she would cancel the appointment and refund me my money back. It's day 3 and i still haven't received my money back. The transaction was pending at first but now it posted. If the service is not offered why is it on the website that's the only issue I have. The shop isn't a bad place I just don't like how the situation played out. $90 for the deposit and i spent $48 for hair im not even going to use now.
