I bought a used car and I noticed that it was running really rough. I decided to take it to Quick Lane for a tune-up, radiator flush, oil change, detailing and to have the rough idling diagnosed. They had the car for a week. During the week I received several phone calls stating this needs repaired and that needs repaired. Besides the initial work I agree to have them change two engine coils which I had suggested during the initial drop off of the vehicle. I spent $1800 for all this work and received a list of current and other things needing repair totaling $3,000. During this time at no time was the engine mentioned. As I drove it home I noticed that it was running worse than when I brought it in. The following Monday I complained that the truck was running worse than before I brought it in. I spoke with Kelly the manager and he scheduled a time for me to bring it in. When I brought it in Kelly met me along with the mechanic and several other people. In about five minutes they were able to tell that there was severe engine problems. They took it to the back where they could run diagnostics. About twenty minutes later I was told the engine was shot and would need replacing. As upset as I was about getting hustled on a vehicle with a bad engine I was just as upset at the fact that my initial complaint was never addressed (running rough) and I was milked out of $1800 with more repairs suggested totaling $3,000. At no time in the week that they had the car was the engine mentioned. It took Kelly and his team less than 5 minutes to diagnose engine problems but the techs that worked on the car for a week somehow failed to see this. It was impossible to start the engine or drive the car without realizing there was something really wrong. I don't know if they just saw an opportunity to make a quick buck or what. I know if they had come to me from the start and said the engine was bad I wouldn't of had them do all the other work which means they wouldn't have made any money up front. However, I would have considered having the engine replaced by them at a cost of $5,000. Needless to say I will not take a vehicle back to Quick Lane ever again. Before I forget, the detail job that took 2 1/2 days was terribly done. I was told that it would be showroom clean and it was far from that. There was dirt in a lot of the crevices and the windows in the rear of the vehicle were never cleaned...seats came out amazing though. My radio was damaged and all the tech denied doing anything to it. Instead I was made to feel like I was possibly being dishonest. Kelly offered to replace it even though in his words, "I am not really sure if we broke it." I passed! Not a good experience!
I came to get an oil change for the first time and got the works package - multipoint inspection. The process took almost 4 hours. I asked to check my rear tire because it had a leak and they did not patch it. I also asked to get a quote for new tires and instead I got offered new windshield wipers. I paid $80 for all the services and yet I didnt get what I asked for and I had to wait that long. I worked for Ford Quicklane as a tech in the past and I would never let my customers experience this. All that to say I was not satisfied with the service.
So happy with the treatment I received. The staff was very friendly and I was able to get in and out same day. They even offered to wash up my ride! It was a little filthy, but I had to get back at so I declined this go around. I was very impressed a full intentions of returning for the next service.
I bought a new set of Michelin tires late last year from Quick Lane. A month later I was losing air in one causing the warning light to come on. When having the car serviced, I mentioned it and it was a bead seal leak. Seven thousand miles later, I had the other three leaking. I asked for them all to be broken down, resealed, and rebalanced at their expense. I was told they could not do that and it was very unlikely that the others had bead seal leaks...that never happens! One was reported that the valve stem was leaking and the other two had bead seal leaks. I believe all had bead seal leaks. Poor workmanship. I always have to ask for them to hand torque my lug nuts to prevent warping the brake discs. This should be standard practice at any shop! They are to top off all fluids and today my windshield wiper fluid was empty and I put over a half gallon of fluid in it. It was just in their shop two weeks ago and I have not used the wiper fluid very much. What other fluids are low? They have just lost a long time and very good customer. When I doubt service being done correctly on my vehicles, I go elsewhere.
