I went to NW Dermatology for a basic, annual mole check up as I have done for many years with other institutes. These check ups cost me a standard $50 copay and are to screen for cancer. Without my permission Dr Bert Tavelli decided to search for cosmetic conditions and diagnose me with a non-health related issue, aggressively pressuring me into taking a biopsy test resulting in 2 stitches in my head and an $800 bill. All this to tell me I have a condition that does not affect my health or my life so that NW Dermatology could try to extract money from me in perpetuity to treat this non-health related issue. I'm furious that I'm out of pocket this large unexpected amount. Those are funds taken straight from my family's meager healthcare budget going into the pocket of this wealthy doctor, who happily boasted about being willing to buy a 2nd house outright for his family while financially debilitating mine.

My appointment was cancelled 2 times by this clinic, called to reschedule for the third attempt at my appointment several months out, arrived to my appointment and they did not have me scheduled for the time they told me, in fact they had no record of an appointment whatsoever and tried booking me another several weeks out! Seriously?! I will be finding a new dermatologist and taking all my family members with me
Thank you for your kind words about NW Dermatology and our staff. We work diligently day in and day out to provide the best patient experience possible, so its wonderful to hear when we meet our goals!!

Im in health care and so set the bar quite high when it comes to my familys and my care. The clinic delivered exceptionally in every aspect possible from the moment I called to make my appointment all the way through a billing issue I had. My son and I both saw Eileen McNulty a PA. She saw my son for a chronic skin infection and me for my melasma. Completely different derm issues and she was attentive, thorough and gave robust explanations of all options. The communication with the support staff was superb and when an issue arose with insurance and billing they exceeded my expectations in helping me through it. They have a patient for life!
We are sorry to hear this. It is our goal to give each patient the best experience possible. If you would like to discuss further, please call our office.

The office staff need trauma informed care training and an understanding of patient centered care. Though the doctors may be great here, just know as a new patient you will have to get through some snippy interactions scheduling your appointment. It makes the entire experience questionable, I would look elsewhere for care.
