3% "kitchen appreciation fee" on the entire check? An absurd charge passed on to the guest from a business owner who clearly doesn't want to pay an acceptable wage to their staff. Lame.
Good food! The bad part about this visit is that we were charged fees that were not explained to us on the front end. There was an open container fee (we ate on the patio and that's the only thing I can think of, NO alcohol), there was a kitchen service fee or something like that. The bill came with just the total. The detailed bill came after we paid. We had left before we realized it! Just seems wrong! We will not be back.
Celtic Crossings is a wonderful Irish Pub in Midtown Memphis. They have a modest menu of traditional Irish favorites as well as some general American fair. They have a good selection of whiskeys including some local favorites, and a selection of bottled and tap beer, including local craft selections. Of course, it's an Irish pub, so you can always get a Guinness. We visited with a large party and everyone thought their meal was outstanding. The bangers and mash were a real favorite. The service was friendly and professional. We were told it can be fairly crowded at times, so planning your visit in advance is probably a good idea. We had advanced reservations. For those interested in dining outside in clement weather, they have a wonderful patio seating area. As you can see on their website, they specialize in of different activities throughout the month. We were there on bingo night. On other nights there is live music, special entertainment, and sporting events. On street parking is available for free. We will certainly be coming back the next time we are in the area, probably to grab some lunch after visiting the Memphis Drum Shop which happens to be right across the street! Another great place to stop for anyone interested in music and particularly percussion and drums.
Hi, Paul. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and are sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your visit. The service you received is unacceptable, so please know we're addressing these comments with our staff so we can make immediate improvements. The information you shared about the dishes you ordered will be relayed to our culinary team too, of course. We'd like to discuss your visit further. Please email [email protected] if you are willing. - DJ, owner

Dear ownership, please dont see this as an attack on your establishment, its a critique in which hopefully you will review and take action to improve. I arrived for dinner 7 PM Friday and was greeted nicely by the hostesses. We were seated immediately and all seemed well. Our waitress seemed a little scattered and not well trained. We placed a cocktail order and upon returning, the wrong cocktail was presented. It took 10 minutes to get waitresses attention to come back and correct the problem. A waitress should understand the difference between a plain vodka martini versus an extra dirty one, or maybe she just didnt care. We ordered a goat cheese appetizer, corn beef sandwich, and chicken Caesar salad for dinner. The order took 20 to 25 minutes to be served, however the appetizer and main course were served together. The person who delivered our dinner said here you go! appetizer and dinner! It seems like he didnt really care what he was doing. Who delivers an appetizer and main course together? He seemed nonchalant about it. The corn beef tasted like it was a week old, Stringy with hard dry edges. The goat cheese did not taste like goat cheese, it was yellow and uneatable. The crispy chicken Caesar salad was nothing more than a frozen breaded chicken fillet that was deep-fried, cubed and thrown over Romain lettuce. we were seated outside, and I went inside the restaurant to the mens room. It was an absolute smelly pigsty in there. On the way to the bathroom I took a peek inside the kitchen and if I wouldve seen that before we ate, I wouldve left, especially with the cast of characters you had carrying on inside there. I couldnt believe they were handling our food. Your establishment is on prime real estate, Im not sure how profitable you are, however if it was my place I would make some drastic changes as soon as possible.
