Hello, thank you for your feedback. Were sorry that you had a negative experience with Keystone. We never hope to have to invoke an escalation clause but if we must do so, the buyer has the right to cancel their agreement and not buy the home. We also have no record of invoking an escalation clause less than 30 days before closing. Lumber is only one component that determines the price/cost of your home and may account for approximately 20% of your homes cost, while the other 80% is the cost of labor and other materials. Unfortunately, regardless of current lumber costs, there have been cost increases in almost all other areas. Lumber purchases also typically move from Wholesaler, to Reseller, to Keystone and takes time to work through the lumber companies inventory system. This means that price changes are not instantaneous. Currently our design studio policy is to allow our customers to add up to $5000 in upgrades without a deposit. All of our upgrades are optional. Textured ceilings is the standard in most of our homes, although we offer smooth ceilings as an upgrade option. The reason smooth ceilings are more costly is because it is more labor intensive. We pride ourselves in responsiveness and if this was not your experience, please provide us more information so that we can further investigate this. Again, were sorry that youre unhappy with Keystone but appreciate your feedback.

The builder decided 3 weeks before closing to increase the contract price because of the price of lumber. Lumber in a home thats completely built and after the price of lumber has experienced a well known price decrease. So much has been unprofessional with this builder. From them cost and process of having to pay 100% of the cost upfront for upgrades, to not returning phone calls and e-mails without me following up on them, to them directly telling me they dont do smooth ceilings cause it allows them to hide imperfections in there work Fortunately, buying a house is not an every year event because I would never buy another home from them.

Hey Michelle- Thank you for your feedback! We are always looking to exceed our customers expectations and it doesn't seem as if we've done that here, however, we are glad that the warranty repair request was addressed and that, ultimately, you cherish your home. We're sorry to hear about your water meter, that is really frustrating! You should know that there should not be any subcontractors on your property after closing and if this is happening, please report this trespassing to local law enforcement as this was not nor could it have been approved by Keystone. Please be sure to submit any other warrantable repair requests via our online system and we would be happy to address. Thanks again for your feedback and we appreciate your business!

To start, I like my home, it is my first home, and I will always cherish it. My home was built in 2017, and I didnt see any issues, but once I started living in it, I noticed those things you dont see the first month or so living there. 1. They leave nails, wood, lawn flags, and TONS of concrete all over the yard and HIDDEN in the garden beds. 2. They didnt ensure the quarter round was properly installed, posing a hazard, and even exposing nails. 3. Open spaces in my LVT boards. 4. The sprinkler heads were installed at an angle. 5. There is left over pencil marks in my cabinets. 6. Theres also a nail head sticking up from one of the window panes, that they conveniently didnt see and painted over it anyways. Additionally, when Keystone was building other homes in my neighborhood they CONTINUOUSLY had their trucks running over my water meter, making indentations into the grass and meter, breaking it, never said anything, and when I reached out to them regarding it, NEVER contacted me back. The only reason Im giving two stars is because despite the problems, I still like my home. And the time I had put in a request for them to fix something, it got fixed. The bottom line is, they are cheap, cut corners, have poor craftsmanship, and customer service. If you want a quality home, do not build with keystone.
