Our voting in Porter County was a joke. Our votes in Porter County did not count. I'd like to know who decided or picked the winners because it wasn't the voters in Porter County. Don't understand why we still have paper ballots. What did they do with ballots? Were they dumped in the nearest dumpster??? I wasted my time going to vote!
This is a great, centrally located resource facility that houses numerous Porter County Government offices all in one place. In my past experiences visiting multiple departments here, I have repeatedly been impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of practically every employee I've had the chance to encounter. Further impressive is the speed and efficiency that I've encountered during my visits here. While you might expect to sit around forever waiting for help or service at a government-run facility (I did), I've been amazed time and time again at how that has NEVER been my experience here. Most recently, I visited the Vital Records department to order a copy of a birth certificate, and after expecting some sort of "you'll receive it in 4-6 weeks" response, I was SHOCKED to receive the actual certified copy within literally 5 minutes. The experiences I've had here are demonstrative if how Government services should be!
4/2019 early voting was a snap and the new voting machines are wonderful. They are touch screen and print a paper summary you turn in separately. Hopefully they will avoid another fiasco like in the last election!
