Hi Chris, Thank you for visiting us at Schramsberg, and for taking your time to tell us about your experience. Our tours and tastings are listed to last 1-hour and 15-minutes long. This time includes the telling of our rich history, an explanation of the traditional method of making sparkling wines, a visit into the historic caves, and the tasting of the featured wines being presented on the day of. It is our goal to end each visit on-time, since we are aware that many of guests have additional appointments to make, following the visit to our property. With our seated tastings, we have the ability to pour the wines in a way, that allows our guests the chance to taste the wines side-by-side. This allows our guests the opportunity to go back and forth between the wines, to compare and contrast the different styles of sparkling wines that are available. We produce sparkling wines that are focused on Chardonnay grapes, as well as Pinot Noir grapes, and have bottlings that range from two to eight years of contact with the yeast prior to disgorgement. We find that when guests are provided the chance to experience the wines next to each other, there is a greater ability to smell and taste the difference between the different styles, giving a greater understanding of what the different variables bring to a bottle. We have passed on your comments to our visitor center team, so that they are aware of them. It is always helpful to receive feedback, so they can look at how visits are provided. Thank you for being a fan of our wines and for your continued support. Should you want to reach out to us directly, please email us at [email protected]. We wish you the best and hope you have a great day.

We paid for the cave tour and Ryan was our guide. It was ridiculously short and minimally informative. Certainly not worth the $83/person fee. The tasting was odd in that all six pours were nearly given at once w little info about each wine. The property is cool ( see the pond photo), presidential dinner photos on the wall back to Nixon, the bubbles are great, but the whole thing seemed rushed and not at all relaxing. Will not return here as you can get good Schramsberg bubbly in many places. Love Schramsberg bubbles, but was a bit disappointed by this short visit.
Dear Richard, We understand the disappointment you are feeling, caused by the cancellation of your group's visit to our property. The decision to cancel all visits to the property, for a few days, was done after great thought and a thorough assessment for what was the safest avenue to take for our guests and employees, given the state of things. Our sister property in St. Helena, Davies Vineyards, is aware of the situation at Schramsberg, and is working with our guests to provide alternative tastings at their property. You can reach them at 707-963-5555, if youd like to schedule a visit at Davies. Davies does offer tastings of both Schramsberg sparkling and Davies still wines. They do have availability tomorrow (Tuesday), and might be able to get you in this afternoon depending on your group size. While we wish we had the ability to provide some form of compensation for the missed experience, the California Alcohol Beverage Control, who regulates our business, has regulations that make it illegal for us to offer free wine or gifts. We would risk our license if we were to extend free products to any customers. It is unfortunate that we needed to cancel yours, and others, visits to our property; but in good conscience, we felt that this was the most responsible decision that we could make. If youd like to discuss your concerns in more detail, please reach out to me directly at [email protected]. Warm regards, Matthew Levy

We planned our Napa trip around our Schramsberg tour, imagine my shock when I get notified less than 24 hours before our tour was canceled, no compensation, no free bottle of champagne for your inconvenience, this place has suffered in customer service and quality! Never again Schramsbergs!
Narayan, Thank you a wonderful review, the Blanc de Noirs is one of our favorite too. If you ever have a chance to visit again we invite you to join us at our Davies location in Yountville and try most our Cabernet Sauvignons and Pinot Noir wines! - Cheers

Best american champagne. Try the blanc de noirs. Mighty tasty. The Davies cab is unbelievable.
