Service was just okay- very understaffed. Waited so long to order food and get the food. Most importantly, none of the dishes we got today were worth mentioning. Uni tostada- sourness and rawness of the salad overpowers the uni taste. Plus, it was more of a uni flavored tostada, rather than having an actual uni presented in this dish. Carne asada- steak was perfectly cooked. But we are missing salsa- totally missing the Mexican spirit here! The flavor profile was quite weak for this dish. The green sauce that comes with the dish was very tasty. Octopus- Relatively a better dish from todays experience. Very savory! Elote- Not Mexican at all.. its basically a corn bread in the shape of corn. Reimagined Mexican street corn but in a bad way Smoked clam- hardly taste any smokey flavor. But the clam itself was very fresh. It gels well with the thinly sliced cucumber. Shishito pepper- sour sour sour, but overall pretty okay. Cocktails were pretty unique better than the dishes in my opinion. Ambience was really good. However consider the quality of food and price, prob wont come back. Valet parking available (shared with bestia) for $10!
Everything is great. Ceviche and duck pastor stole the show for me. Cocktails were also tasty. I had two different mezcal ones; I didn't ask the names, but both were great
I read about Damian when it first opened, and have been excited to try it since. As soon as we booked our flight to LA, I made our reservations. Not only did Damian meet our expectations, it exceeded themthe service, food, atmosphere, and experience were stellar. Our evening rivaled the night we dined in the Eiffel Tower; it was that special. The entire experience was just awful. The most unwelcoming, pretentious, non-accommodating dinner you would ever want to have. There's such a thing as being too attentive, where it's disruptive, disrespectful, and rude. It felt like they were rushing us out of the restaurant. I've never had someone just take my plate without asking me if I'm done. I'm genuinely disgusted.
