Its exceptionally inconvenient that the system kicks you off of computers when there are open computers available for anyone to use. 1) Get more computers, 2) invest in some padded partitions for privacy and noise cancellation, 3) let people have unlimited time as long as everyone else has access to a computer. Today I had to quickly save all my work within 1 minute or I would have lost everything. I was at my daily limit so I had to round up all of my belongings and head to my nearest friends house to submit a report for work that was on a strict deadline. Wow. I cannot believe how archaic the system is. Very aggravating. Still submitted my report 2 minutes late. Thanks Swanson Library.
I have been coming here for many years. Don't understand the comments about this site being small- it is NOT. Parking on Thursdays is always bad because they have the book sales on specific Thursdays-just avoid that day. There are usually more computers, but the plague has caused the removal of some of them-things will get better some day. I do think 1 hour is not enough for most people to work on the computers, but I have also seen kids using them & just playing games..kids should have a section for them with their own computers with games. I like the staff here, they are always helpful-you can do face to face with them, or you can call on a phone- they will always try to help you. Currently this location is open 6 days now & closed on Sundays. Hours have been shortened to 7pm- used to be 9pm, but again, after the plague is over I look for them to possibly go back to the original hours. This is a good size library, things are pretty organized for fiction, non-fiction, etc. If you can't find something-ASK a librarian...they WILL help you. And yes, this place can get a little noisy when there are kids under 12 in it...but at least they are not sitting in front of a computer playing war games.
Thank you for your feedback. At OPL, we strive to select materials of interest to all members of the community, reflecting a variety of interests, viewpoints, ages, backgrounds, and education levels. Access to OPL's collection is not limited to the W. Clarke Swanson Branch and patrons are welcome to request materials to be sent for pick up at any location through OPL's online catalog at omahalibrary.org. We encourage patrons to let us know about materials that we do not own and want us to purchase by filling out the "Suggest a Purchase" option in their accounts. Another option is using Interlibrary Loan services to request materials from another library. Let us know if we can help you to utilize any of these services to get you the materials you'd like.

Nice open spaces, not closed in feeling. Fairly good fiction selection. Do have an issue with what seems to be minimal availability of Conservative non-fiction books when it looked like there are more Liberal choices. I looked for certain titles and they dont carry them. Disappointing.
