This review is for Bitterroot Warrior Arts, the Dojo at Bug Out MT. First, Sensei Lee is an excellent teacher and instructor, with an obvious passion and aptitude for teaching. The Dojo is family friendly with classes for all ages and a very positive environment. The other students I train with are also of like mind, with good people from all walks coming to BWA for top notch instruction. Sensei Lee was a student of Master Jim Harrison, the founder of Bushidokan Karate and also Ronin Jutsu (look up Master Harrison for an amazing bio! He was a truly incredible man). Sensei Lee teaches these martial arts as well as Japanese Jiujitsu. I am a student of all three. The best way to describe what is taught at BWA is "well rounded practicality" in all forms of self defense martial arts. All classes are taught more from a "combat" approach than for sport (although you will learn some of that as you go). All three disciplines work together and build on each other. The refined skills taught in the Karate and Jiujitsu classes are expanded into incredibly effective, practical techniques that are taught in Ronin Jutsu. Ronin Jutsu combines the best of Karate, Japanese Jiujitsu, and Mui Tai into a complete self defense martial art predicated on defending against any modern day threat you may face. Advanced Ronin Jutsu training involves Mental Combat, Survival, and how to defend against multiple attackers and various weapons threats. Classes can be intense. The training is superb. The camaraderie is great. I highly recommend BWA and Sensei Lee!
