Dear Mr Penrose, Thank you for your review, we would like to resolve your issue as we believe there may have been some confusion or misunderstanding during your phone call to the shop, we are looking to resolve that & any issues you have with your bicycle. After checking our system details you are booked in for Tuesday 1st June when our Workshop Manager returns from annual leave. He will assess the issue with your bike to determine if the issues are a warranty issue which means we raise it with supplier & they either approve or decline the warranty based on our mechanics opinion, photo evidence & when required the part/bike returned to them . Currently this can sometimes take up to 4 weeks to fully resolve with the supplier due to a UK shortage on parts & bikes and is not within our control. If an issue is declined as a warranty issues it is then termed as damage/wear & tear, this is not solely based on the age of a bicycle but on the amount of use it has had, how & where the bike is ridden, where it is housed when not used and the cleaning & maintenance of the bike. It is then explained to the customer in full as to what is needed & an estimate of costs to repair (Currently this is also dependent on the availability of parts) it is then up to the customer to make a decision on if they wish to proceed with the repair. We endeavor to give our customers all information to enable them to make informed decisions. I understand you also confirmed you could still use the bike if you avoid using the highest gear & was happy to bring it in on Tuesday 1st June for an assessment. From there we would then give you specific recommendation as to next actions and some idea of timescales for your individual case as opposed to the general process that we currently have to explain to customers in order to set an expectation of timescales with warranty & repair issues all bikes must be seen by a mechanic to assess repair or service requirement & parts required. We apologize that this was not clearly communicated on this occasion. We offer a 6 week first free service with all our new bikes & customers that take us up on this service use the opportunity to raise any concerns or questions they have regarding their new bike. All customers are welcome to come & ask for advice with any cycle issues & we will try our hardest to help or offer a solution. If you would like to still take advantage of the 6 week free service please confirm that with the mechanic to ensure that he allocates correct amount of time dependent on the outcome of the assessment. Enjoy your Bank Holiday & look forward to seeing you next Tuesday.

I brought a Marin MTB Iin the middle of March, when riding this morning the back cassette has failed. On calling the shop they advised it might be wear and tear (2 months old!) and that they were booked solid for the next 4 weeks. If I leave the bike with them for 'about a week' (over school half term) they might be able to take a look! Also from day 1 the rear wheel has never been true ( not checked in store?) and the disc brakes are worse than the rim brakes on previous 15 year old mtb....
Warning! Visited shop with bike 700 Giant.2 years age to enquire about a service. mountain bike with approx 400 miles a year kept indoors with only road use. Was told it needed stage 3 service. with replacement of chain , cogset and crank arm. Visited Halfords was informed this was complete nonsense 8.00 Gear service which i had done on advice. Bike is running like new. Watch you do not get ripped off like i nearly was. 80.00 labour approx 50.00 parts. Something about this shop and staff felt strange. Visited Halfords

Whe presented with a partly rebuilt old steel frame and a box of bits, I suspect many bike shops would have turned their nose up at it. However Tim at The Bike Company took the challenge on and was incredibly helpful, patient and full of useful advice as he completed the rebuild. Of all the local bike shops, this is the one I recommend to those who I ride with.
We bought an ebike controller. On the end we did not need it. The shop was very be happy to change it for a secure lock. Great customer service. Thanks
Charged 6 for putting a inner tube in the tyre (tyre was already removed from bike) job took 30 seconds for 6
