Totally shoddy customer service. Brought my VW Golf here on a Saturday morning because the engine management system had closed down and was greeted by the words 'Nothing we can do until Monday' on Monday was told it was the exhaust recirculating valve and the cost would be nearly 1000.00 to repair and this was a special deal. After research on the internet found out it was a known problem and VW had produced a fix for it. VW UK then gave free the part worth 250.00. Smith Knight Fay immediately put their labour charge up so the cost stayed virtually the same. Reported them to VW UK but no interest there. Treat more customers like this and hopefully they will go out of business.
I was offerred a Cam Belt replacement at a fixed price but then I was charged a higher price. Once I'd realised I phoned back and was promised a refund and a call back. There was no call back and I have had to call back on last two days to no avail. I had been a customer of the former VW Dealer, Smith Knight and Fay for over 15 years and have never received such poor customer service. P.S. I just received a call back and my complaint is in the process of being addressed to the level I would expect of such a reputable dealer.
I'm a motibility customer as my son has special needs. I have to say the service has been nothing but fantastic. Always ready to help out n especially Ian Kramer, there's no one better there. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them at all.
Excellent customer care by Michelle in the Service department. My 2005 Golf had a warranty fault which was fixed without fuss. Most people only write reviews when bitter so thought Id buck the trend. Yes - VW are not the cheapest however, you only get what you pay for.
I've had two Sciroccos from Inchape Volkswagen. One was a replacement for the other given that after 12 months of having the car the first one decided to shut itself down whilst I was on a dual carriageway. It was in the garage every month for the first 12 months of having it after which time I demanded a replacement and was told "it will cost no more than my previous car." I'd like to think you can trust a well respected organisation like Volkswagen, how wrong I was. The dealership proceeded to try to sell me Gardx treatment and newer model cars at more cost.... hang on I thought it wasn't going to cost anymore. I ended up with another Scirocco, paying more each month and got 'screwed' on the finance given that without noticing they reduced my annual mileage, increased the excess mileage cost and extended the term of the finance from 36 to 48 months. Needless to say I do not rate the service from Inchcape Stockport at all and think that their very poor effort of rectifying the issue has made me more determined to get some sort of settlement for all the trouble I've had through them. Message from me: visit at your own risk
