I've been wearing glasses since I was 8. I came to this doctor because I changed insurances. She's the worst eye doctor I have ever been to. She is unprofessional and tries to build her business by insulting others. She criticized everything about my previous prescription even though I told her I was working for me. She insists on giving you a prescription for the most expensive contact brands and she would not give me a copy of my prescription to go elsewhere for cheaper contacts until I threatened to report her to the board. Her prices were also the highest I have personally seen for contacts. She kept trying in insult my old eye doctor and was generally rude and lacking people skills. I will never so back there and tell everyone I know who needs regular exams like I do to beware of this place. I wasted my yearly exam here.
People on the phone have all been rude in the couple of experiences Ive had trying to set up an appointment. If you cant talk professionally and politely to clients dont have a customer-facing job, its as simple as that. The way that your staff deals with would-be-patients is a direct reflection of your practice.
The Optometrist, and all of her staff in this office are fantastic! Each one is very friendly, knowledgable, helpful, and seem genuinely interested in making the experience a happy one. Everyone who walks in is helped quickly, the wait is not long, and the atmosphere, selection of eyewear and pricing is great! I would highly recommend this Vision Center!
When I first switched here 2 years ago I was very happy with this service. Last few times I've visited this office, staff has been less than friendly, on edge, and during this COVID pandemic blatantly frantic. One week they are checking temperatures with a thermometer that doesnt work- all readings came up higher than 102, two weeks later- no temp checks at all. They encourage people to wait outside rather than in their car, once including a 91 year old woman. As I had both my daughters picking out frames for their glasses, the receptionist asked me multiple times within a 15 min time slot to please hurry as there was an elderly woman outside. I am an RN and have a compassionate heart for the elderly- why she would have a 91 year old waiting outside DURING OUR APPOINTMENT SLOT is beyond me. I asked if maybe it would be better to suggest she wait in the car while we choose the glasses. Mind you- glasses are usually multiple hundred dollars and obviously used for a year or longer. It is not a process to rush through. The second time I went in to pick up the glasses I was 10 min early and noticed more than 3 people outside. I called to advise we were checking in for our appt and she asked me to call back in 10 min because the person before me was late. I called back after 10 to see if I could come inside and was advised to wait longer. Scheduling IS NOT AN EFFICIENT OR EFFECTIVE process here and a complete disregard to the patient's time. Additionally, staff is not on same page with benefit amounts as it appears some staff members provide you with some information while reception provides you with another- causing me to have to call my insurance carrier in the middle of my appt to verify benefit amount and relay info to staff. I would suggest they implement better system for patients in their waiting rooms and possibly take customer service trainings, in order to not lose further business and to prevent low star ratings.
