The Pizza here is very good, there is no doubt about that. But how much you charge per slice and even per pie is astronomical!! 30 dollars and 35 dollars for a reg and square pie respectively?! Pizzeria Giove down the block has a reg pizza pie that taste better for 18 dollars! Im sorry, but honestly I cannot be okay with buying pizza that cost maybe less than 5 dollars to make for that price. I make pizza at home too for my family and it cost me 5 dollars a pie and thats not even buying supplies in bulk. Prices come down, then I would come here. I rate the pizza a 4 and the prices a 0 which is why I gave 2 stars.
When we visited in May we were disappointed to find that the dining area was closed, and that takeaway was the only option (there was no indication of this that we saw anywhere on the web or google maps). This issue was exacerbated by the fact that there is literally not a single bench, table, or open grassy area for what seems like miles to actually sit and enjoy your food. We ended up loitering on the stoop of an apartment building a few blocks down the street and awkwardly balanced our food and drinks while we scarfed our pizza. The pizza was tasty, but I was so uncomfortable trying to eat and enjoy it that its really tough to fairly judge how good it actually was. Add the long train ride to get there and the high prices, and what we got was a pretty unenjoyable experience. Id recommend skipping this place unless the dining area is open or you have somewhere you know you can relax and enjoy a couple of slices.
Di Fara is famous for a reason. A Slice is $4/5 bucks. It's an excellent slice. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? Maybe. It's in the running. It's definitely not a "this is the best pizza you ever have slice," but it's definitely competitive with Pizza you'll have anywhere.
Di Fara Pizza Is The Most Authentic Italian Pizza in New York City. The Pizza is to die for. 100% Reccomend this pizza. This Pizza Is Worth Every Penny.
terrible experience. we placed the order at 440 and for pickup between 545-6:00. it said it would be ready around 5:55. fine, i get there at 6:00 she said give it another 10-15 minutes. understood, i work in a restaurant i understand the kitchen gets flustered sometimes. so i patiently waited, after 40 minutes past i started getting frustrated. seeing people come in with the same issue as me, some peoples orders were lost, the whole system needs to be worked on. its a new place that doesnt have anything organized yet. you should not be promoting bogo entrees and intriguing deals if you cannot handle the crowd that comes with it. the man who ordered over the phone had his order lost and they gave him food that they werent sure who it belonged to. a half hour passes and sure enough a man comes in looking for his tail end of his order, sure enough it was visibly obvious that this girl realized she gave his food away to someone else. now he is standing there with a partially finished order waiting an hour for the second part. i ended up waiting an extra hour and a half later than my scheduled pickup time. this place needs to get their system straightened out. on top of that our orders completely wrong
