This homeowner called us today (11/12) and voiced concerns regarding the service we provided on 8/25. We swept his fireplace and chimney and provided a written condition report identifying the concerns we found in the flue. He said that we didnt sweep his chimney and that the photos that we provided him at the time of his inspection and sweeping were not of his chimney. Our technician offered to return and run the camera up through the chimney again with the customer in attendance so that he could see that the images we gave to him were indeed of his chimney. He said that he didnt want the technician back. Wed be willing to send another one of our CSIA Certified technician out to do the same, but he said he wants his money back. Wed be happy to make this right if there is something that weve failed to do. Our technicians conduct themselves in a professional manner and try and inform homeowners as respectfully and objectively as we can when we find deficiencies in a heating system. Fortunately, we have everything documented with some before and after photos, and a photo showing our equipment set up in front of his fireplace. We also provided him with proposal for our recommended repairs / improvement to the flue system.

Jesus came out, inspected and cleaned, noted gaps in the tile liner grout... all was well... until I took my own photos after the fact and found the flu was not cleaned as stated. The photos in my report are definitely not from my chimney. These guys are running a liner repair scam. Stay away! Veiled threat made in response to my complaint says everything I need to know, " Anyhow, it's your chimney your safety your lives not mine." update... they offered to come out and run the camera again... for another fee. I am Adding photos... pristine clean from the report documenting damage vs my photos... note my visible finger swipes in the soot. not the same chimney. BEWARE!

Shawn was very thorough and took his time explaining things to us and answering all our questions. Really appreciated his suggestions and knowledge. _____________________________________________ After writing the above review I feel compelled to update it. Don't expect them to respond to your questions after the initial bid. I emailed about a specific item that (I thought) was not included in the estimate. This was AFTER calling and asking if they received my email. They responded via email almost a week later, and it was includedjust not spelled out in the bid. I had one more follow up question that arose after I had a convo/bid with another vendor. It has been a week and I have not heard a response. This does not give me confidence that if I hired them for my chimney/fireplace repairs that communication would be good.

The representative who did the inspection and chimney sweep was very thorough and helped us to understand the best solution for the safety of our home. He also did an amazing job cleaning up after the sweep so no debris or dust was in the house, which was greatly appreciated.

So far, so great with American Chimney. My brother in law recommended them and he was right to. The technician, Shawn, explained in detail why smoke comes into my house when I build a fire. (FYI its totally not my fault.) All the options got laid out, with pros and cons. I could make an educated decision about a solution without pressure or shady tactics that I have experienced with other companies. Highly recommended. I will update this review after all work is done.

Scheduled them out to inspect my chimney as it had developed a leak. Appointment went fine, spent 30 or so minutes inspecting it, explained that he thought a chimney rebuild would be in order said they would get the inspection report and a bid for repairs back to me within a couple days. Didn't hear anything back for a week or two so I had to follow up and ask for the report. Finally received the report another week later and was told the bid would follow. Never received it. It's fine if they didn't want the job or something, but just say so up front. Not impressed, won't be using again.
