While Bamboo HR side (for the most part) works, Bamboo Payroll is a miserable failure. I am on my 11th attempt in a row to run payroll with them, and all 11 attempts in a row have failed due to errors with their payroll grid, resulting in their staff having to enter my company's payroll manually to process it. I've been told twice now that "an update has been processed and will fix the problem", and yet the problems continue. I've been told recently that "another update has been loaded", but honestly I'm not hopeful. Today I discovered that the HR side and the Payroll side aren't syncing properly, which caused a repeat benefit withholding error on one my employee's paychecks. This was a known issue, which had to be fixed last payroll, yet happened AGAIN this payroll. And to top it all off, I discovered a $76 shipping charge on our invoice this month even though I don't have ANY paychecks shipped to me. I have resorted to this review after asking for higher-level support on their Facebook page in January. And while I did hear from someone new at Bamboo who was "very sorry for my experience" , their service is STILL not functional. I had hoped to see some professional accountability from Bamboo and hear from an executive of the firm taking full responsibility for their worse-than-beta performance, but that hasn't happened. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Bamboo. As I interview other companies, I am realizing that their fees are bloated as well. Do yourself a favor, stay away from Bamboo! When I find an alternative, I will update this review to share what company actually works!
They lie about their pricing. They tell their customers it is a higher price than the normal price, and that they have a special promo going on for less money that will expire the end of the month just to get people to sign up that month. There is never any special promo. Most of the time they overcharge on the monthly fee and implementation. I have friends that work there and they are sick of the dishonest and greedy owners and sales managers. BambooHR is a greedy company and are all about the money, but deceive the customers in to thinking that they are all about the customer. Their per employee per month fee ranges from $2 to $8 depending on how many employees you have, but they often charge their customers anywhere from $9 to $25 per employee per month.
Customer service at BambooHR is nonexistent. In the past two months, I havent had any any resolution to two basic inquiries: 1) request for an orientation; and 2) how to work around a bug in their system that is blocking access for me, the account owner. Also frustrating that there is no single point of contact so a different person may reach out if at all, and they are only open 8-5 Mountain time.
