Nuanced Media built a website for us for around $10k. When we asked to move the site to our own servers they said no problem and we'll happy transition it for you. Ian tried very little to make it work and then went on paternity leave. We back off so he could spend time with the new baby. Then we reached-out today and Steven Edwards told us Nuanced Media couldn't help us any longer. So Ian their technology person builds us a site and then the going gets tough runs away from the project.

I've been around web design and digital agencies since I was on the board of a company called UCI Web Group back in the late 90s when we bought three early web design firms: Online Focus, Sharkbytes and Third Street Interactive. These companies were pioneers and did projects like create package tracking for FedEx, put WebMD online, create the first online Apple Store and build the first website for Morgan Stanley. Fast forward 18 years and take a look at Nuanced Media. The Nuanced Team is every bit as innovative, competent and creative as the teams at the companies referenced above. Working with Ryan Flannagan and his team is an absolute pleasure. They always do what they say they will do and then exceed my expectations. They are open, honest and innovative. They understand the importance of building in ROI (return on investment) and, most important, they are unafraid to let us know when the Emperor has no clothes. The Nuanced Team is not a group of "order takers" looking to go along to get along, rather they are true marketing professionals. I met the Nuanced Media team through Startup Tucson and the Colab Workspace. I had been struggling to find a designer (or design firm) that could help with some prototyping for a project of mine, and thought I would ask them for a possible referral. It turned out they actually had the exact right people to help with everything, and could meet the tight schedule needed. It turned into a very successful collaboration, with great results.
