I had to take Nigel Burns to fee arbitration to get a ruling regarding money that he stole. It was then and only then (because he risked losing his license) that he wrote me a refund check for $1920.00. Do not give him a retainer because he will likely pad his hours and invent reasons to burn through it. That was the case with me at least. There are great lawyers out there that are happy to put in an honest day's work for an honest day's pay. Nigel Burns is not one of them.

They charged me nearly $40,000 and seemed to overcharge me because they knew I was desperate, facing the prospect of losing custody of my son. Nigel routinely showed up late to court, having failed to prepare. Now that the case is over, they are suing me in small claims court for just over $1,700, penny-pinching after I gave them a large portion of my life savings out of desperation. Please do yourself a favor; choose a better firm for your family law case.
