Avoid. I bought a pair of their 'waterproof' boots less than 2 years ago. They are not waterproof. 150 for something that doesn't do what its supposed to. Merlin's response to my enquiry: Sorry to hear that you have experienced problems with a pair of our boots. Unfortunately there is nothing i can recommend as our boots shouldn't be leaking in the first place. If these are still in warranty you will have to return them to the retailer you bought them from so they can go through the warranty process. They are quite correct they shouldn't be leaking. Thanks Merlin for leaving me with the cost of new boots after profiting from your dodgy products.
I bought the Merlin hatton leather jacket in october 2017 for 350 it was only used a few times as I have a few different motorcycle jackets. When I came to use it again last month I noticed that one of the chest air vents had parted from the jacket I also noticed that the stiching had parted from the collar.I contacted Merlin they asked me had I registered the 2 year warranty with them which I had.A day later I had an email from a JamesFranklin saying they could not find my warranty details and could I sent them proof of perchase I sent a copy of my bill.I then got an email from Mr Franklin saying as I had had the jacket over 12months there was nothing they could do however and I quote his words. If you visit a clothing alterations specialist it could be cheapley resolved this is a jacket hardly used that cost 350.So I took it to a motorcycle leather repair specialist they could not believe it and when they inspected the jacket I was told the zip had never been stitched to the jacket and the collar was just bad workmanship and it should never have passed quality control. So there you go Mr Franklin 44 years I have been riding motorcycles and you take 1st prize for duff motocycle gear.My motorcycle buddys you have been warned.
I purchased a Merlin Outlast ladies jacket a week before going to the Picos mountains in September this year with my husband. We had some really heavy rain, but I was very impressed with my jacket as it kept me dry. It was so wet one day that a Spanish lorry driver felt sorry for us when we stop for a coffee that he insisted on paying for us. This is my first Merlin piece of clothing but I will be spreading your name when the TT comes to our island again.
Really happy with my weekend purchase. A pair of new G24 Drax boots in brown. Wore them during a 6 hour ride out on Sunday and caught in rain these kept my feet dry and were very comfortable all day. Will look to buy more Merlin in the future.
