Whoever runs this store needs to hire more employees. Just spent 30 minutes trying to get help buying a pair of climbing shoes and gave up and walked out. I saw about 50 customers in there and three employees total, two on register and one having to deal with the hoardes. REI is going to put you guys out of business.

This is the place for serious outdoor gear for hiking, biking, snow sports. Most of the other stores in the North Conway store area will sell you a fleece or some hiking boots but that is where they end. EMS on the other hand has everything from tents to water purifiers to ice crampons Get outfitted for your next trip and even sign up for lessons from pros.

Went climbing on the grabd teton this past July and met Cheyenne Chaffe, who after briefly talking with him spends his winters in the northeast! A local! Sweet! We hooked up again through EMS and did a run around the amphitheater hitting so really sweet ice climbs, had an awesome day... great instruction and tips, he knows what he's doing and has a passion for the outdoors. Call EMS in North Conway and book a day out with Cheyenne, you'll be glad you did.
