Vanguard seems to have a monopoly on certain items for the military. They are highly overpriced and their customer service leaves much to be desired. Expect their free shipping to take nearly 2 weeks and when you call to upgrade, you can expect a price that is nearly a THIRD of the order cost. I ordered several small items online (Two chest insignia badges, one tie, and a pair of shoes), which cost over $92.00. I then realized that I needed the items earlier than 2 weeks. When I called, I was told that I had to pay $30 more dollars to have the items shipped sooner, which is insane (talk about nickel and diming). After paying that, I received the items and needed to make a return. I was not issued a return authorization immediately, instead being told "I'll try to do it today but you'll probably get it Monday and you're responsible for shipping charges." At no point have I ever dealt with a company that overcharges their customer base to this extent. Honestly, just get your uniform supplies from elsewhere- unless of course you can't (CAP Members). I was able to place an order for the item with a competitor and they added it to an existing order AND upgraded my shipping so I'll receive my items by Monday at no extra charge.
The products they have are good but some with the prices are a bit too far. I will say though they have to work on their shipping because it sucks. I work for FedEx and Im sure I understand how the delivery shipments work. If I ordered something and placed it ground shipping I shouldnt have to wait for nearly 2 weeks!!
I ordered my ribbons, racks and ranks for Civil Air Patrol with two day expedited shipping. My ranks didnt come for a month. Absolutely ridiculous.
