Really want to like this place. As a first timer I ate here on a Thursday evening. Started with a dozen oysters, they were very fresh and excellent. Gumbo and crab cakes from the appetizer menu were also very good. Went back the following Saturday, we got there @ 530. Asked for a dozen oysters to start, they were OUT OF OYSTERS. Waitress says Saturday is half price oysters all day until they run out. Which apparently happened at 430 in the afternoon. Find out that theyre closed on Sunday so all I can figure is they dont want any leftover oysters after Saturday night so anybody that gets there after 430 no oysters. Not sure if this is the best business model but I'm sure not going back on a Saturday after 430. FWIW the clam chowder and salmon bacon on Saturday were very good but I drove over 2 hours round trip for oysters so go figure.

1st time I have ever been to this restaurant and I'm 63-years old ! West Des Moines was my old stomping grounds growing up.. Now I had a salad with blue cheese dressing (nasty ) followed by crab cakes (burnt) & the main course was a 10oz lobster tail (it seemed over cooked) & kinda tough !

The food here is very mediocre for the price you are paying. The oysters were good but the shrimp and fries were lack luster at best.
