Rachel, we talked while you were at the house. We had a heavy snow that put our operations on our heels for quite some time. I tried to explain and I guess I can't require that you understand. But I'm the one who authorized the cancellation and full refund from airbnb because we did not have any available alternatives. So, while I acknowledge that circumstances caused a bad stay for you, and that our internal communications suffered during this time, much of your elaboration is embellished, clearly for the purpose of harming a company that provided best effort in the face of challenging circumstances. I'm disappointed that you had a bad experience and that you felt you had to lash out. We successfully host 17,000 reservations a year. Your experience is rare.

We booked one of these cabins through Airbnb and had a hellacious experience. There was no working door code or key at check in or for the duration of our stay. Even after waiting outside for nearly 20 minutes in freezing weather, the best they could do was remotely unlock it for us. No code was ever provided, meaning we had to leave our belongings in an unlocked home for our dinner reservations. The home was missing a key piece of the advertising, the glass fire table on the deck, entirely. It also lacked a working hot tub, neither the heating or jets working, and had for some time, according to both the most recent reviews AND the maintenance man who was sent to, look at it. We were told by that gentleman a work order had been in for longer than a week, despite Carolina Cabin Rentals assuring me less than 24 hours prior to my check in that it was working. This amenity, particularly, had been the primary filter on which we based our decision to rent. Despite all these issues, the host refused to provide adequate recourse. By the time I despaired of reaching resolution and reached out to Airbnb, Id been trying for HOURS, and it was nearing midnight and well below freezing. This host is in flagrant violation of almost all Airbnb policies. Thank god Airbnb handled my issues, provided options for me to find an available listing that met my criteria, and importantly, could be locked when I left and unlocked when I returned. They provided a refund and assisted with finding safe and secure accommodations. I will happily use Airbnb in the future knowing that the added fee from using this platform actually does mean they stand up for clients when hosts completely disregard their terms of service. Find another property to rent - we are SO much happier with our replacement accommodations. Edited after reply to add: anything youd like to claim I embellished on I will gladly retract - however, in the face of this kind of attitude, I feel obligated to post photos of the chat thread with CCR. You, whoever you are, most certainly did NOT authorize the refund - that was Kartik, an Airbnb employee, after midnight, who informed me that you refused to and that because you were in such disregard, AIRBNB ate that cost and you were still paid. Embellishment, ha. I have screenshots. Anything else?

Hi Haley. The following email was sent to all customers arriving in this time-range before you departed: "Due to extraordinary winter weather, we are not able to guarantee that, the guest before you is able to vacate the property, or that housekeeping will be able access the house, or that quality control and maintenance will be able to service the house. Please make precautionary plans for alternative lodging. There is potential that the property is inaccessible or that it won't be ready (or even vacant)." I wish I could make you understand how many victories we have won this week for which the lead up was just like the situation at your rental. We have heroically cleaned, cleared, and maintained houses in the midst of feet-deep drifts, 70 mph winds, stuck customers, automobile accidents, broken equipment etc. . . all caused by a historic winter storm. For each victory, we have fought against difficulty with the goal of saving reservations for our customers. It would have been easy to cancel them all. But that would have disappointed the plans of everybody. You had our best effort. We were also disappointed when it became apparent that we would not be successful for you. I'm proud of the work we've done and for the good experience we have delivered to our reasonable customers.

First of all, I literally have never written a review on google. That tells you a lot about how upset I am with this company. Terrible experience. If I could write a 0 star review, I absolutely would. I booked a house for my birthday/bachelor party weekend weeks ago through Airbnb but still with this company. They messaged me via Airbnb 2 hours before check in letting me know that my house was inaccessible due to snow that had been there for 5 days. If this had been an issue for 5 days, they should have reached out before 2 hours prior to our check in time. We had already driven to the mountains and were about an hour away. Had to pull over to figure out a back up plan. Spent about an hour on the phone with the Carolina cabin rental people who were literally no help and very dismissive. They offered to refund me fully, it has not shown up yet in my account though. I had to find back up housing last minute again with no help from Carolina cabin rentals. Terrible. I will absolutely never book with this company again and would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. That was incredibly stressful and they were not at all a help. 0/100 stars possible. Awful.
