Aloha Dean, We're very sorry to hear you felt your experience with us was a negative one. We are a small family business and truly strive to provide excellent customer service and do appreciate that customers are flexible with lessons that are wind-dependent as the conditions can be so variable - and have been especially so recently. We know that sometimes involves waiting around at the beach for wind to pick up - and that can be frustrating for both our students as well as instructors! Do note we did not deduct time for the first safety briefing we did with you when the lesson was cut short - so that was at no extra charge. Also do know we have a 24-hour cancellation policy for lessons and we accommodated a last-minute reschedule request on your end without charging. As for our rates for additional hours, we offer 6 and 9 hour packages and encourage students to purchase those up front, as additional hours are reserved as new packages. Short Description: Upset with the service i received. Friendly crew tho Long--> First lesson got rescheduled, then when I showed up the first day and the wind wasn't even strong enough. we did a 20 min safety and then departed. Whole day was wasted to transportation from and to the place. Then the 3rd attempt at the rescheduled (1st) lesson went well, had good wind finally. Tuti was a good instructor. 2 days later i show up for lesson #2 and i have a different instructor, we start 30 minutes late even though i showed up early. The radio helmet they had malfunctioned twice and we cut my lesson early again. Not adjusting for time wasted by tech issues or their lunch breaks. Honestly surprised to be this disappointed with such a friendly set of people. I didnt make the rest of my lesson (1hr they said i had left) because transportation there alone takes 2-4 hours round trip! Did not get offered recompensation for the time i had left. Oh and when i wanted to add hours i had to start over from base rate even though i already paid for 6 hours prior! if youre gonna aloha sammy make sure you have weeks of time to chill while they reschedule you and cancel your lessons xD

Our family was here for a month and we used Sammy for kite surfing lessons multiple times eFoil lessons multiple times and rented paddleboards multiple times. Hes awesome to work with, offered us refunds or gave us extra time or discounts on activities when weather didnt cooperate. Competitors were 2x-3x the cost for the same thing, and we had a blast with Sammy!

I planned to have one 3 hour lesson, and I was lucky enough to get Sammy himself. I was amazing. Sammy is a really personable guy and an excellent teacher. I was so close to using the board at the end of the lesson, that I organised a second one. This one was with Natalie who I ran ragged by getting blown downwind an awful lot. She was very patient and I ended up getting up on the board twice. So, pretty happy with that. I would highly recommend Sammys and Kailua beach as a great way to get into kite surfing.

Sammy cares about his clients having a good session. I had a rough day at Punalu. Low wind, I had the wrong kite rigged, touch wind direction...it seemed like everything was going wrong. Sammy did right by me by reaching out to me to make things right. Thanks Sammy! I will definitely see you when I am back in town!
