Went in to buy a bike. A fixed gear bike for urban riding. I've been riding bikes for 40 years. I can ride a wheelie the length of Mass. Ave. Sitting down. I was assisted by a very nice young lady and was about to close out the transaction when another sales associate who I had not dealt with the whole time approached me and said that he would not be comfortable selling me the bike. He never said why or anything. Worse experience in a bike shop eveer
Josh just set me up with a new commuter bike and all the accessories. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They put all the upgrade on and had me out the door in about an hour. They even threw in a free t-shirt.
Walked in and asked about $500-600 bikes. Were told they have some just above $600, asked to see those. We were then shown a $1,000 bike and told that it's far more superior and durable (including things like how much space it has for water bottle holders and fenders, lol). Then the store employee showed us the $600 bike and told us it sucks. Really disappointing experience, I didn't even bother buying the chain I need.
