I listened as the grounds manager threatened to call the sheriff's on 3 families, including 12 kids who were sitting around the campfire laughing and talking because they were celebrating a 10 year olds birthday. The first sentence out of his mouth was a threat. He even swore in front of the kids. I was in the very next campsite and they were being a little loud. The manager had a right to ask them to be quite, it was an hour after quite time, but his tact was inexcusable. My buddy and I had a great time but the way this guy reacted will keep me from coming back. I mean who threatens a family for enjoying each others company in front of there children.
This is a wonderful place. Staff was friendly. We absolutely loved the location. Quiet, out in the country surrounded by mountains. You're close to the little village which will have basic stuff. It's only 6 miles from the south entrance of Sequoia National Park. Great Location.
We dry camped with a 40ft. 5 th wheel and accessibility and scenery was relaxing. The national park was very close for day trips. Looking forward to returning again.
Sequoia RV Ranch and the surrounding area are experiencing severe drought. I called twice before embarking on this trip to check on conditions, to no avail. No one answered the phone or returned my phone calls. We drove 480 miles to camp at one of the "deluxe riverfront campsites" only to find the river dried up. There are no restrooms, just outhouses and coin operated showers. No laundry services. It was so hot and dry, we really didn't enjoy being outside. When I checked in and saw TWO staff members at the desks, I wondered why they couldn't call me back. This campsite is probably nice in the spring when the river is still flowing and is located close to the entrance of Sequoia Nat'l Park, as long as you expect zero amenities. The outdoor staff were friendly, thank you for that. Office personnel acted as if they didn't know anything about the area or the National Park. I don't think they want to be bothered with the same questions from travelers. If that's true, they're in the wrong business.
