I came here because I was curious about American art prior to 1850. As a Brit it's always been weird to me that I don't know anything about American art from that period. Turns out... It's rubbish. It's really really bad art pre-Civil War. The star rating is about that more than anything. It's a good collection of 90% bad art. That said, it's a stunning building and the tour was exceptional. Huge thanks to John, the tour guide, who would get six stars if I could give them. He was amazing.

The art was beautiful, the line for the cafe though was Woah! The band playing was amazing 2 :)
