Jamie, we are so sorry that you felt our detailed responses were terrible customer service since we strive to respectfully answer all inquiries, even those directly addressed on our FAQ page. As you mentioned, there is a video provided for this stone viewable on the webpage, and videos are worth a thousand photos. All our online clients need to see a gemstone in person, in their own environment, to know if they will really like it and decide to proceed with the purchase, or return it for a full refund no questions asked. As with everyone, we encouraged you to see it for yourself in your unique environment, not our San Diego store, before sending it off to your jeweler in Australia to be set. Whether it is unreasonable to spend $40 on fully insured FedEx shipping to view a $2,000.00 gemstone with no obligation is really up to each client to decide for themselves, we never pressure anyone. We are deeply saddened you viewed this somehow as insulting. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service; please point out to us anything we said that was rude, offensive, or disrespectful.

Ive been searching for the perfect sapphire for weeks now and I thought I had found it at GemFix. However when contacting Andrew to see if they could provide additional pictures of the stone, I was denied and told to come visit the store to see it in person. I replied that I really liked the stone based on the photo and video posted on their website, but that I live on the other side of the US. I asked again if they could provide some additional pictures to see the stone in different lighting since I cannot travel to San Diego and I was again rejected and told to either come see it in person or to pay the $40 shipping fee and to pay shipping fees again to return it if I decided I didnt like it. Terrible customer service and they are clearly not concerned with selling the stone.

First of all, if you are looking for a Montana Sapphire, you absolutely need to go to Gemfix! The quality of the stones are the best, the cuts are absolutely gorgeous, and the prices are fair. Setting up an appointment was easy, as Andrew and Laura were quick to respond and we were able to painlessly coordinate a meeting. I drove from Torrance, CA and arrived about 10min early. Andrew was already inside getting set up and he let me in. We chatted about what I was looking for in a stone, showed him my setting, and he pulled out several stones for me to look at. He was extremely gracious with his time and we chatted for almost 90 minutes before I finally decided on a stone. He made sure I looked at the stone under several different lighting scenarios and we even went next door to make sure the stone could be set into my ring. What I loved the most was that at no point did I feel like he was trying to sell me a stone. We just sat and talked and it just felt like we were two friends meeting over coffee, rather than two strangers who were in a business meeting. He gave me all the time I needed to fall in love with the stone. The bottom line is, if I ever build another piece of jewelry and I want to use colored stones, I will, without a doubt, be calling up Gemfix.

I just purchased a gorgeous Teal green color change Montana sapphire from Gemfix and I could not be more thrilled. The clarify and cut are excellent and the color is exactly what I was looking for. I have searched many other sites, but did not come across a stone of this color and size before now.

Andrew was fabulous to work with. Buying a stone online was pretty stressful but Andrew was extremely helpful and patient answering my questions about different stones to really help me narrow it down. I loved being able to order 3 to compare in person and had a really hard choice deciding between them because they were all so amazing. I would highly recommend Gemfix to anyone looking for a high quality gem and excellent customer service.
