Awful experience as a subcontractor to Manhattan. Manhattan asked us to come out on short notice to fix an issue. After sending out a technician team for a half-day job, for which we charged them $400, they levied insurance requirements on us that exceeded $2000! Their risk management group was unable to waive a $3M umbrella requirement, despite the fact the work had already been done. On top of that, they were condescending throughout the process, insisting we should have had our legal team review the subcontract, despite the fact it was issued as our technician was on the way to the site. We had a similar issue about a year before, where their insurance requirements (not just the coverage limits, but the language within the document) required a $1200 change order that we had to eat on a $7k job. Only GC I've ever requested to remove us from their Bid List! Subcontractors - beware that being paid by them is an incredibly frustrating (and long process).
Im being asked to go back and redo a bunch of work that was already done this is being done so they can keep the 10% that is owed do yourself a favor and stay away from this company.
