You must have the wrong shop. You have never been to my business. There is no record of a purchase of any kind. Second, you prove you have no idea what you talking about as you say changing an endpin is a simple job... yes it is, but you don't loosen the strings for this procedure. So the stings would not be flopping around. If you are changing the endpin plug, it is not simple and the cello needs to be put on a stable platform so the sound post does not fall. Your story is implausible in my shop.

I`m not usted to do this but I think this can be helpful to others. Around a month ago, I was visiting Boston with my wife. We are both profesional cellists. I needed to change the endpin from my cello and I searched on Google the nearest luthier from where I was staying. Since it was a simple job to be done as he said by the phone, I went to New England Violins. This Paul started to work on my cello and we were very surprised in how he did his work because he treated my cello very careless. The tailpiece and strings were hanging from the cello as he moved, they kept banging everything the touch. I asked him to please stop, but he didnt hear me since he was on the phone the entire time he was working on the cello. At this point I had to grab the cello from his hands and paid for his awful job and we left. I dont like my instrument to be banged around. I do not recomend this place at all. Be careful. Later I checked there were a los of places much better than this one and they knew this awful luthier. I Added a photo of the transaction so the awful luthier does not try to lie about this.
My students love going to this shop! They have a rent-to-own deal for great quality violins, violas and cellos, with the best sounding strings. But they sell complete sets (instrument bow and case) for very reasonable prices. It's an all-in-one stop too because they have accessories, books, cds and dvds. Everything is in stock, no waiting for weeks on end. All ages are welcome here, and amateurs and professionals are all treated kindly. Their bow rehairs are excellent! It is a close walk from Symphony T stop, or Bus No 1 that goes along Mass Ave. See you there!
Thank you so much for the kind words! It has always been a pleasure to help you and your students!

What a beautiful shop! When I lived and taught Violin in the Boston area for many years, I referred adult and younger students to Paul, the owner. They loved going there on a consistent basis. Whether they needed to improve their own Violin with new strings or adjustments, or purchase a new Violin or Bow, Paul was always very patient! My highest recommendation!
