It took me a moment to find who submitted this review because the profile only shows "S H" and I had to dig back a few months when we finished this project. First off, I'm sorry that you feel we "stole" your money. I looked back to make sure we invoiced you for the proper amount and we did. Our initial estimate for the hours to measure, cleanup after measure, preliminary design with notes, changes, construction prints, and error checking was estimated to be between 10 and 15 hours. We actually came in under budget and only ended up billing you for 9.5 hours. We also figured the beam sizes you needed, added them to the plan, and did not charge you for this part at all. I'm not sure how you feel we "stole" your money as we did exactly what we said we would do and came in under budget (including the beam calculations). We also know you were trying to contract this work yourselves and you wanted to save the money and not hire a general contractor. That's why we also helped you out with the beam sizes needed for the walls and recommended a good framer if you didn't have one. These beams are normally figured out by the framers fairly easily in the field but we helped you out anyways by giving you the beam sizes and didn't charge you for this. I assumed everything was going well with your build because we have not received any phone calls or emails in the recent months that you had issues. Also, like we've mentioned multiple times, please give us a call if you have any technical questions or run into issues. We know you are trying to contract this yourselves and would love to help you out in any way we can. We actually enjoy getting to help our customers in the field and try to go above and beyond to answer questions you have. Our drawings are not child's drawings and they are used several hundred times per year by general contractors without issues. And if there is still an issue or something you need, then just let us know and we will work to resolve it. I assure you if there is a dimension you need or anything else we can help you out in a few minute phone call or site visit. In the end, I don't feel that the issue is a technical issue you have, but rather just an attempt to get refunded by posting a bad review. I see that out of all the reviews you've done almost all of them were negative. We will not refund your money for work that we did as agreed on and that was under budget. If you truly have issues with your plans that you would like to handle, please call us when it is convenient for you so we can help you out. We can't help you out if we don't know there is an issue. We have no problem making a site visit either, even on off hours, or to give you advice on the contracting side of things. We met Rainer and Nocona at a trade show in Decatur and were very impressed with the pride they took in their company. They are both hard working people with some of the best work ethics around. They have been loyal customers of ours for years. Always flexible with our crazy schedule, and very understanding and appreciative. Update: Due to the crazy and quickly changing costs of building right now, I had to completely change my building plans and go with a new design. These guys delivered the same amazing service, attentiveness, and quality. Love love love this company and will recommend them to anyone I know who needs plans drawn. I wish more companies offered this level of service. Thank you Texas House Plans!! Working with Texas House Plans was a great experience. They were quick and attentive, very friendly, answered all of my questions, responded quickly to all of my emails, and did a great job! This is saying a lot in a time were everything is taking 2 to 3 times longer to do anything than usual. I highly recommend this company! We will be using them again, if we build in the future.
