Friendly, personable, and most of all helpful. This is a company that I believe genuinely cares about its customers and wants to improve the software that it produces. Both the sales staff and technical support folks are easy going, yet professional in what they do. The best part is that they treat you like a human being and are not pushy when it comes to sales. Every time there is an issue or problem, the onsite technical staff can remote into your computer, have a look, and talk to the developers to get it fixed. Not only do they troubleshoot and update the software almost weekly, but they take feature requests and upgrades from people who use the software. Several ideas or improvements that I have suggested have made their way into the next update, making the program easier to use and more convenient. This might be weird to say, but when a new update comes out or theres a new feature, I actually get excited. Who gets excited by POS software? I guess I do. Anyway, its also always fun to call tech support and interact with them if there is a problem or glitch. A lot of the time we will troubleshoot and come up with solutions together (I have been around AIM long enough to understand how the program works), so it ends up being that we help each other out. The point is that they value your opinion and want to find a solution, and not just fix the problem. As for the software, its easy to use and doesnt have too big of a learning curve. Everything is customizable, and the powerful programs allow your business to offer services and programs that other point of sale providers dont. One of the greatest things is the customization of the menus, where you can make your own text or images, create custom help tips, have unlimited range and color choices for touchscreen buttons, I mean you name it. We have a button that lets our employees order pizza from a local pizza place here in town. The button just takes them to the order page on that pizza places website, but hey, its a shortcut! Now, while the technical requirements for installing and getting it set up is a little more advanced, its a great program that you can easily use to grow your business. Theres a plethora of online videos and training available as well. Bill Steppan, or Professor Tri-Tech does an excellent job explaining how to use the various modules, and what features are included. You can also request additional one-on-one training with him, and he can remote access your screen, walk you through new modules, and explain questions that you may have. Its all recorded and sent to you afterward so that you can review them later. The people behind AIM is what counts the most in my book. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and respected, and at the same time offer a level of professional service that outperforms your expectations. Even though the roots of the software come from a long history (MS-DOS, if you can believe it), they have now produced a product that I can easily recommend to other specialty stores and retailers; and it just keeps getting better.
