Great museum. Unfortunately the potential of this museum is marred by hordes of noisy schoolkids. About 4 schools had descended on the museum on the day we went there. There was no room to move in some places with students running here and there. Noise levels were deafening and accompanying teachers did nothing to stop the incessant chatter. It was like trying to enjoy a museum in an environment like the tube during rush hour. Only a few schoolkids appeared genuinely interested in the exhibits.
This museum is about to move to a bigger, more attractive location in Smithfield so this visit was a bit of a farewell. I have always enjoyed the exhibits and artifacts offered here and I look forward to seeing what the new space looks like.
Too much neolithic etc not enough 20th century. So much has happened in that time very little about 1950/60 etc. Only my opinion.
