Can't get anyone on the phone. Finally got a ring tone and it kept ringing. This is during business hours! Horrible company. They don't seem legit. Website looks fake too.
I see a lot of complaints but I had a good experience with AST. I called on a Monday to request a copy of my account statement so I could transfer the shares to Fidelity. I was on hold about 10 minutes and the rep was very polite and helpful. She sent the statement to my email account in a couple of minutes. I sent it to Fidelity on Tuesday and AST did the transfer the next day. Very smooth and professional.
After receiving a Notice of Unclaimed Property from AST I called the number on the notice. I listened to a long and detailed message with instructions that sent me to their website or offered to connect me to a human. Even after reading these reviews I opted to go on hold. Honestly, I was on hold only about 3 minutes! The woman who answered was professional, courteous and efficient. Researched the issue and discovered that I had an unclaimed/uncashed check for $95. She is reissuing the check and I should have it within a week! Maybe 2018 brings better service from AST, certainly I was treated well. Good Luck!
HORRIBLE. Half hour on hold so far with no end in sight! And they want me to complete a customer service survey when I'm done. How the heck does this company stay in business?
