VALET TOOK MY CAR FOR JOYRIDE: I had my convertible valet parked at the hotel and when they gave it back, the gas tank was empty, head light turned off, seat adjusted... Not professional. Disappointed.

Closer to downtown and Fisherman's Wharf than Cannery Row. Found it as a Hot Deal on Hotwire for a "4-Star" hotel. Haven't stayed out in Monterey in a while but this felt closer to a 2-star as opposed to a 4-star hotel. Room felt small and the bathroom didn't seem very clean for the rating. Rust stains in the sink and the tub floor looked dirty.

I would not recommend this hotel. Although the location is really great, and the staff is very friendly, the actual hotel is not. The rooms are old and dated. We were originally given a disgusting room next to the elevator and right on the parking lot. Stains on the wall, hair on the bed. The hotel changed us to another room, but not much better. Gross trash laying on the bathroom floor, like it had barely been cleaned and there was hair in this bed too!!!! Obviously they aren't washing the bedding correctly. Also, they charge for WIFI and charge $5.00 for a bottle of water. Never returning.
