Purchased the Autel Maxisys Elite for its coding and programming capabilities. To date, we have been unsuccessful in coding a single car. On every vehicle we attempted to code we called tech support when we received the a "Not supported" error while coding to verify. When we finally had a vehicle in the shop that was supposedly able to be coded with the Autel we connected to the vehicle with tech support remotely connected to the machine and it crashed the module we where attempting to code as well as 3 other modules. It has now been 2 months since this occurred and Autel tech support continues to tell us they can fix the issue but to date the car now needs $4,200 in replacement modules. So in short, we will never purchase of recommend this product to anyone and not because it isn't a somewhat decent diagnostic tool(programming issues aside) but because tech support is awful. They are unreachable, uncaring and untrained in the product.

Today will be my 3rd attempt to talk to somebody about getting my maxisys fixed. Finally got ahold of a person yesterday and they promised someone would call me back. Didnt happen!
Hello Jeff, I am sorry you had a negative experience with Autel product, but it does sound like the retailer you purchased from (most likely Harbor Freight in 2016 or 2017) did not explain the end of software support when purchased. For professional users we recommend you rely on a tool dealer relationship to provide you with the best recommended tool to fit your professional needs. The issue with the Maxidas tool when released in 2008, was that it was created on a windows platform. All of the Autel MaxiSYS tool line operating systems are supported with Android systems, so there will never be an end to their vehicle coverage updates. We purchased the Maxidas in good faith. We had some difficulty in registering it, and finally did complete that task. We then updated it, or so we thought. Only expecting an occasional need to use it for Honda module matching, it sat a number of months. Worry not. I do not claim that you violated the exact terms of sale, you just were not flexible. I have since purchased your current products, and am VERY pleased with them. 2021 Summer UPDATE: Having bought the Auro IM600 a few years back, with a lifetime subscription to updates, I am pleased to amend my experience with Autel. They absorbed the Auro brand, and have upheld the subscription most honorably. They could have buried the product, making updates "not applicable", but have improved and enhanced the IM600 exactly as their own model, the IM608. I still have the Maxidas, but only had that around from the days before the content was rolled into the IM600, and development continued. Autel has been a leader in aftermarket diagnostics for the long haul, and the support is superb.

I have purchased a couple of units in the past customer service was good. I just purchased my forth unit and have been trying all day to contact them after so many rings they just hang up on you. VERY Disappointed !!!
