My loved one was buried in Woodlawn recently. In my opinion, it is a pretty cemetery with lots of shade and trees.Lawn always looks maintained to me.The maintenance men that work there are some the nicest friendliest people Ive ever had the pleasure to meet.Very nice group of guys.My issue is with the mosquitos. They are out of control! I havent been able to visit my loved ones grave in weeks due to the mosquitos. They literally swarm the air like gnats! I have scabs and bites all over me from just 2mins of being there and that is while wearing almost a whole can of off! The price of the plot was surely high enough for them to be able to afford someone to come spray for mosquitos. Also, the manager in the office is very rude and lacks customer service skills.I wanted to buy a bench for a tree near my loved ones grave.I called the cemetery office to find out what restrictions they may have and if there was any size or color guidelines to follow and also where to buy them. The manager proceeded to act annoyed asked me if I had ever heard of google.Definetly not the nicest or friendliest people to deal with, but the maintenance men are so kind and the grounds always maintained.
We were quoted 1500.00 for the opening and the closing. Then they went up on the day to 1795.00 Finally still charged 1595.00. And they stopped the closing before they got there 1595.00 Also they said if we paid by credit card there would a 5% charge for paying with a card Also they could not lower the casket with 2 guys. Finally after 4 guys and 5 or 6 times they were able to lower the casket. They stopped by my fathers grave site to get the check before they would do any work. That was so embarrassing in front of the whole family and love ones Like if we were going to walk away. That is bad business.
I recently went there to visit my father's grave and had some questions while there. The young lady was very nice and answered all of my questions. Very nice place.
My brother went to the cemetary where our mother and my niece is buried and found this!!!! Totall unacceptable. Anything we have done to make our mom's resting place pleasant and pretty they have destroyed..I called them on Sunday, left urgent message for the owner Kathryn Perry and no response as of today. I sent an email with these pictures. ON my dad's plot, looks like they buried someone there in his place..they destroyed the flower bed brick work that my brother/father had done... This is unacceptable. This is a sacred place for peace..not for their ground keepers to destroy property. I understand they have to bury someone else, but why disturb the ones that have already been resting for years...They better call or I will blast this all over social media!!!
