STAY FAR AWAY FROM HERE! Rude staff, disrespectful and dont care about your sobriety. I left my wallet and glasses case and since I live 5 hours away, I was told it would be sent to me. After 3 months, it never happened and now Im out $100 from having to replace ID card, wallet, and credit cards! DO NOT GO HERE at all!

I caught a petty marijuana case when I was young about 13 years old and my parent were recommended to send me here so they told the judge that and I was court ordered. The place was filled with gang members fighting inside the dorms I had to fight. The security would ignore the sounds of bangings on the walls. People bullying people and some people would go there instead of going to jail for real problems. I would want to call my parents to get me out of there and the staff seemed like they tried there hardest for me not to be able to talk to my parents almost as if they were more worried about there profits than our well being not even the counselors would listen to me and brush it off. I finally had a visit and I had to start screaming out and telling my parents everything in front of the person in charge of the youth department. (Sorry for my grammar) Dont send your kids there. Its full of criminals that get a program option. And the owners seem like there trying to get you for every penny

Had an awesome experience at Lake Villa. Met the most wonderful people there. Staff are very knowledgeable on addiction and they may seem harsh and strict but that is exactly what an addict needs is a routine and rules that need to be followed to retrain our addict brains. The counselors are so helpful and professional and the campus itself is absolutely GORGEOUS. (Not to mention it is one of the only rehab faculties that still allows cigarettes on campus, which is a huge plus when youre going through the stress of withdrawl and recovery.) Would absolutely recommend Gateway Lake Villa to anyone who is serious about changing their life, the program makes you face issues youve never had to face before while being sober and gives you the strength to accept your life as it is and the power to move forward making good decisions. Gateway was my last stop before drugs killed me; Im so proud to say with the help of the Gateway community I am now 90 days sober (& counting), and now a happy & productive member of my community. Thank you Lake Villa Adult Womens Program for saving my life. Also a heads up if you will be attending lake villa; yoga pants/leggings/tight/ripped pants will not be allowed. Pack only essentials because there are a lot of beauty products (hairspray, shampoo with alcohol in it, mirrors etc.) you wont be allowed to have as a safety precaution. The washers and dryers are extremely heavy duty and most of your clothes will be shrunken and scratchy by the time theyre done washing them all (required before you can have your clothes back) so dont bring any favorite items of clothing. Youre only allowed to bring 7 days worth of outfits in with you so packing light saves a lot of time for the searching staff. Make sure to bring a case of water or clear reusable bottle or else youll go insane being thristy as hell all day. Bring lots of envelops and stamps because sending mail will be the only way you can regularly talk to others on the outside (especially significant others). I apologize for the review being quite lengthy but the sheet they give you of what you can/should bring is outdated and incorrect so after making the mistake of bringing all the wrong things, I want others to know what to expect. My son currently is in your facility. His father put him there because of a court order. Finally after finding out where he is I am able to read some of the reviews. Personally I always research for things like this but it was not in my hands. I visited the facility yesterday it seems nice and the staff was professional.
