Jarrett: Just tried calling you to work it out with you, although it's your friends situation, and you hung up on me rudely. So I guess I need to reply here. Your friend signed up for a 30 day trial and wanted to do a membership after the fact. We fulfilled our obligation to him and he came after the free 30 day trial to cancel. We could have been sticklers and held him to what he signed but our assistant was kind enough to work it out where he paid less than half what was owed. Maybe because you guys are so young that you think signing your name and agreeing to something doesn't matter, and you can just do what you want then bash a business after you're in the wrong, but that's not how life works. In terms of my hostility, the first time I heard about this matter was from your review, so what you wrote about receiving hostility from us is just false. We're actually very chill, we just follow the agreement we agreed up and both signed. Even for you, you didn't even come in to cancel, our assistant allowed you to cancel over the phone - that was for your convenience - no other facility would be that cool. No mention of that though, huh? So for you to say all these things only hearing one side of the story, and then when I try to call you to work it out you were extremely rude and hung up on me without even allowing me to work it out or talk to you, speaks for itself. So Jarrett, IDK what you're trying to do with this 1 star review of a membership that wasn't even yours and really don't even know all the facts, then when I, the owner, try and call to work it out, you hang up on me... but I hope you have a great day, and in the future: hear both sides of a story/or think before you jump to alot of conclusions.

Do not sign anything here. Did a 30 trial with a friend. He was mistaken on his trial end date and cancelled the day after the last day of the trial. They charged him $300 even though he had been to a total of 2 classes during the trial and hadnt been in over two weeks before cancelling. While trying to reason with the owners he was met with a lot of hostility and they said he was lucky they didnt charge him $600 instead of $300 - for using the gym twice and cancelling 24 hours too late. This is a locally owned business and the owner could very easily just decide not burn bridges instead of acting like some corporate machine with an impenetrable refund policy. Fortunately my friend told me about his experience in time for me to cancel immediately. I still had a week left, but if was going to join after that trial Im sure not going to anymore. I would never do business with someone like this, nor recommend them to anyone else. Now queue the owner replying to this review, calling me a liar and justifying the fine print on his contract stipulations just like hes done with all the other people here whove said the same thing. I dont care if youre within your legal rights John, its bad business. People dont like dealing with businesses like you. No amount of legal jargon will change that.

Ernest, Lords Gym is down south, and we have the upmost respect for what they do, but we serve two different audiences. As a frame of reference, you came here for 1 class, signed up, and then we didn't see you again until you came back to cancel. You are correct however, there are cheaper gyms out there, we try not to be the cheapest. We have beginner Boxing classes for those that want to learn but aren't interested in becoming a competitor or fighter; as well as, Advanced Boxing classes for those that want to compete. I do believe had you tried us for more than that one day we could have earned a better than 3 star review. Sorry we weren't able to help you out, but we wish you all the best. Sincerely, John

In a more upscale side of town so you pay for it. If you want straight to the point and more time at the gym for cheaper price and better training go to Lords Gym.

Ive been training at Johns gym for almost 3 years now and dont plan on stopping anytime soon. I love coming and training Muay Thai here. Coach Branden is great and has really invested in teaching me everything he can. Also love being able to use the gym for extra workouts between classes. Highly recommend checking out any of the classes, especially Muay Thai!

Regina, we are a local fitness class/gym - we're in NW Austin. IDK why you are saying we're 'trying to charge me $600 for the program' when the adv clearly states it's $12.50 per week. NOW, you can pay upfront, AS AN OPTION, but no where, and never are we "trying" to get you to choose one over the other. You wrote you signed up, so if you did, you'd clearly know that no one is charging you $600...it's a 16 week program at 12.50 that you can cancel. We make it as brain-dead simple to get fit, infact, we're only 2 days into this with hundreds of satisfied people joyfully taking part in our classes to change their lives. IDK about any deleting of comments, but if your comments were full of false accusations like the one you just wrote, I'm sure it was justified. Then to start your paragraph with SCAM ALERT like we're trying to scam people for $12.50 is a complete joke, but worse it hurts businesses that are trying to do good by people, and give them a way to change their life like we've done with hundreds of people before you and will continue to do.

SCAM ALERT- Very disappointed in this gym....Thought this was going to be a local fitness class but signed up for some BS weight loss program that is trying to charge me $600 for the program. Tried warning other participants but Johns Gym deleted my comments on FB and restricted me from commenting.
