I volunteered in Vietnam teaching English from the 15th February 2020 until the 22nd of March 2020. Although I cannot complain about my experience once it was away -as every person I met were all so kind- I left Vietnam feeling a little 'scammed'?? I paid 450 to do this project. However, AIESEC did not pay for a single thing whilst I was away. In fact, i found out that the family I was staying with that ran the english lessons also paid AIESEC $30 for me to come. AIESEC are very good at exchanging peoples information and getting you in touch with one another safely but i feel that 450 is a very big price to pay for this. I believe AIESEC exploit the people who really want to make a positive change to the world by charging them ridiculous fees whilst we get little to nothing back in return.
AIESEC UK has been the highlight of my university experience so far. It has helped me develop both personally, and professionally. It's a great place to meet a diverse group of people who are interested in broadening their horizons and becoming world citizens.
AIESEC UK were really excellent in providing me with a summer internship in Brazil. They made sure I was prepared to leave and were easy to contact while I was away. I loved my experience there and it definitely helped me develop leadership, business skills and confidence. Excited to go on my next exchange! Strongly recommend!
