I ontacted breakersyard re a gearbox for a vauxhall vectra.several came through and the price ranged from 400 to 1600.fitted I contacted a garage and they had one in a crate including deliver costs aand vat 880.00 approx..My mechanic stated you have to be careful as vauxhall coded their gear boxes.and if you fit it it will need to be taken to a vauxhall for coding.I gave all this info to the garage who said he has never come accross it before,but he had a few garages near my home and he would get them to sort it out.I felt he was honest and agreed to pay 200.00 and once we sorted it out I would pay the balance.At the same time he had a garage about 40 miles and he would sort it but he was on holiday.in the end I found a garage to fit itand contact them and paid the balance,then he said the box was ready to goand would be there within two days.after a week it had still not arrived,my garage was very upset as they had the car on a lift with no gearbox in it,waiting for the box to come.I was then told I had to sign a terms and condition first (no one had told us before) once that was done and scanned/fax back the box was shipped another 4 days later. Mt complaint is not just to the supplier,but Breakers Yard I contacted them and explained,they took down the details and sent my a e mail reply.a few days went by and still nothing contacted breakers yard again and I got the same reply in fact I have three all the same I sent numerous e mails,and they did nothing in fact I wrote and told them their service was rubbish and comes back the same e mail. My view is if your looking for a part for a car DONT USE BREAKERS YARD.some of their suppliers are rubbish and BREAKERS YARD ARE SOMETHING ELSE. all they want is their bit from these garages and if it goes wrong' nothing to do with us'.instaed of sorting out the bad garages,they are not interested as their 'bit' is lost and to hell with the customer.

The person that I dealt with through them I would never deal with again, I'm assuming that they never review the companies on their books or if they do then I'm even more disgruntled. Customer service non existent. Be careful would be my advise.
