The garbage disposal backed up and flooded the apartment. Upon arriving there was someone already in our unit cleaning it up, at first I was rather agitated but in the year that I've been living here it only happened once. Moreover, it was promptly taken care of and they assured me that this would not occur again. However, maybe a week later it occurred, and we waited some time while our apartment continued to flood with water from the garbage disposal. It took some time before someone could come in and address the problem after we were assured that it would not occur again. We had to stay in a hotel room due to the flood since it was later in the day when it occurred and we had to work the next day. Of course, when we approached the management team here they did not reimburse us for the hotel stay. The logic that was used was that it was just water from the garbage disposal and was of no harm to us but was just "disgusting" as was stated by the property manager. In my mind this was rather faulty logic; we as tenants could not expect Cypress Place to reimburse the hotel stay because they expected us to sleep in our flooded unit while someone cleaned up the unit while we slept; this of course is my assumption but they certainly did not provide an alternative. As such I am an unsatisfied tenant, which is why I'm writing a review about my experience. Cypress Place; or perhaps it may be more accurate to state that the property manager, does not have the best interest of the tenant but rather the interests of the corporation and its shareholders, this is my perception based on my treatment and it most certainly feels that way.

Also, we are investigating the possibility of installing all new laundry equipment in the near future so stay tuned! The rules are out of control, they refuse to install speed bumps to stop the people speeding through the parking lot, the plumbing in most buildings is terrible, the "low flow" everything is too low flow, they keep making new rules and force them on the residents (most recently parking restrictions,) the laundry machines are too small and too expensive, the rent it too high compared to the local market and they keep raising the rent with zero added features or comfort

Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here! Management is great, super friendly and helpful. The maintenance team was also friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking. The hallway and foyer of our building was kept clean. I never had any issues with packages getting lost or stolen. The landscaping was always kept up and there are picnic tables and grills available to use. When we first moved in, we could rarely, if ever, hear the upstairs neighbors. However, towards the end of our lease, new tenants moved into that unit, and they were very loud. We could hear them walking/running around, the child screaming and crying, and even their TV. In full disclosure, we didn't bring this issue to the management's attention since our lease was ending soon anyways. Plus the majority of tenants are friendly and respectful. We had a few maintenance issues with our unit that could have been a huge headache, but the management and maintenance team went above and beyond to make the situation the least stressful it could be.
